A feature documentary following actors Joseph Millson and Sarah-Jane Potts as they take a new path in life - becoming film directors, crowd-funding micro- budget but ambitious films which deal with themes of anger, hope, connection and a better way of living. The documentary follows their journey of artistic achievement and self-discovery, overcoming the odds, confronting the past, healing the future and exploring the meaning and value of art. When Miles Folsom was aged 15 years old, he was sentenced to 36 years in one of the toughest adult prisons in America for a drug deal gone wrong. What rescued Miles from his hell-on-earth was an life-changing lesson from visiting actor and teacher Scott Jackson. Performing Hamlet's world famous soliloquy was the start of redemption for Miles, who reformed and ultimately gained his freedom. Scott and Miles have never met since that fateful day - until this documentary reunites them, and tells the remarkable story of the power of great literature to changes lives and connect people from very different walks of life. We are currently filming a documentary about the 50 year history of Actors From the London Stage, including the production of social media shorts advertising their 2025 tour of Hamlet across America, a tour which takes them into prisons, schools, organisations for disadvantaged communities and colleges. A clip from a season of filming we did with the extraordinary 400 year old archaeological wonder, the Rose Playhouse Bankside, filming their productions and exploring their story. This is a clip from their production of Doctor Faustus with Christopher Staines in the lead role. A clip from a short film which looks at the forgotten but extraordinary story of the Roundhouse - a pioneering studio theatre set up 50 years ago by actor Martin Bax. The Roundhouse was intended to democratise theatre and featured new work with major stars-to-be such as Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley, Patrick Stewart ad Sebastian Shaw. Made with Dr Abigail Rokison Woodall of the Shakespeare Institute. The film was made pro bono to promote the ideas enshrined in the Roundhouse experiment. Full film will be posted online soon ... THE BELARUS FREE THEATRE
The Belarus Free Theatre is the most acclaimed refugee and dissident theatre in the world. Filmed undercover in Belarus and on the frontline of the conflict in Ukraine, this film follows them for two years as they work with Russian feminist protest artists Pussy Riot to raise awareness for international human rights. The film has been show around the world to massive audiences, especially in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. THE EVE OF ST AGNES

SERIOUS ABOUT COMEDY: WITH THE BIRMINGHAM REP
A "serious/comic" documentary shot over two years, following the Birmingham Rep Theatre and the University of Birmingham as they explore the meaning and purpose of comedy in the modern world, with a focus on reinventing Shakespearean comedy. With Adrian Lester, David Mitchell, Al Murray, Frank Skinner, Bruce Robinson, Shazia Mirza, Robert Sheehan, Adonis Siddique, Sean Foley, Iqbal Khan, Ewan Fernie, Spitting Image Live, Upstart Crow and many more. Every year, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre mounts a full-scale, highly accessible production specifically tailored for secondary schools, offering free tickets to thousands of children in inner city schools - many of whom have never been to the theatre before. The film was made in 2016 pro bono for the Globe and has been used ever since to raise awareness for its pioneering work with young people and to inform schools, teachers, parents and pupils of the power and potential of Shakespeare in young lives. ACCESS ALL AREAS DISABILITY THEATRE GROUP
Access All Areas is a disability theatre group mounting a powerful production about the shocking truth of Britain's historical eugenics programme, in which the disabled were locked up en masse and forbidden to have children - a national scandal which is only now being fully explored. The play explores the extraordinary story of Mabel Cooper, who was locked away as a child but became a formidable disability activist. Filmed with actor and disability campaigner Adam Pearson and screened on BBC 4 as part of its Eugenics series. A clip from a documentary made with Dr Abigail Rokison-Woodall of the Shakespeare Institute about her pioneering project to create drama materials and encourage better access to Shakespeare for deaf and hard of hearing children, including mounting a short production of The Tempest. The documentary is experimental in nature and intended to privilege the hard-of-hearing audience, entailing different editing and presentation styles. SISTERS: A FEATURE FILM
Mahsa and Marjan Vahdat are renowned interpreters of Persian classical and folk music; but as female singers and campaigners for freedom of expression, they cannot perform publicly in their beloved home country of Iran. Filmed inside and outside of Iran, this independent film follows their travels and travails. It will be premiered in festivals in 2025 CULTURE FORWARD!
