WAKING SLOWLY

A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT LOVE, LOSS AND LOW-BUDGET FILMMAKING

Actor Joseph Millson woke up one morning with an idea for a film. He knew immediately the characters and the story and he knew it would be a love letter to actress Sarah-Jane Potts. It was the start of a low-budget filming adventure which took the Millson family to Lanzarote and beyond; and against all the odds, the film they made, Signs of Life, became a smash hit on the independent film circuit and is still gaining a reputation as a quiet classic.

But in the making of the film, the line between art and life became very, very blurred - with unexpected and life-changing consequences.
